Filmmaking

Plenty of kids grew up watching movies. I went one step farther; I grew up making movies, and I've never stopped. Primarily I've worked with the Adobe Suite to create engaging stories, but I adapt to other softwares quickly and I'm always excited to find new ways to bring life to my work.

Game Design

Game Design

When I create games, I tend to approach it from a player perspective. What's fun about the game? Why would someone want to play it? Does it engage players from start to finish? To that extent play testing has always been really important to me, as well as making sure when sticky moments are found, that I come up with creative solutions to solve them without overcomplicating things.

Escape From Nefaria

Escape from Nefaria is a tile-based exploration survival game with a heavy sci-fi theme. Players must explore a hostile planet to find pieces of their ship and escape before being killed. This game was a collaborative effort. I was responsible for mechanics, balancing, and player engagement. Here are examples of some of the monsters The art was done by Joey Visco, the monster effects were written by me. To watch a video of the paper prototype gameplay, click here.

Darkened Madness

Darkened Madness is a short, one session Dungeons and Dragons adventure using the 5th edition rule set. It's aimed at beginners, leaning more on combat while still having role play elements. This was a collaborative project by a small team familiar with Dungeons and Dragons. I was responsible for ensuring clear instruction for the Dungeon Master, balancing the encounters, and editing the final product into one coherent piece. To see the full adventure, click here.

Writing

My writing career began before I could write. I'd make scribbles in notebooks and indignantly tell anyone who would listen that I was writing a story. Now that I've learned how to dot my I's and cross my T's, I'm still writing. I'm a storyteller, and while the stories I tell often have a final forms in films or games, they all started the same way: as words on paper waiting to be unleashed.
